Allen Logistics NI Ltd expand services for Hazchem

14 March 2013

Northern Ireland based Allen Logistics NI Ltd have augmented their service offering from the current Channel islands, taking on the Six-Counties of Northern Ireland from Monday 18th of March 2013. Hazchem Network wish to pass our thanks to Albert Johnston and his team at Depot 103 Johnston Logistics, for releasing the Northern Ireland territory to allow Allen Logistics to join the Network.

Over the past five decades Allen Logistics has firmly established itself as a respected logistics company in the Northern Irish and Mainland UK transport industry.

The firm’s proud heritage began in 1967 when Linden Allen took over from his father William, with just two trucks. For over the next 46 years Linden progressively built up a successful organization which prided itself with a first-class personal service to every one of its clients. Under Linden’s dynamic leadership and drive, the firm has grown into a 30 strong fleet of modern, high specification vehicles supported by 60,000 sq ft of warehousing facilities in Northern Ireland, Liverpool and Leicester.

To ensure the highest standards at all times the Directors regularly measure and monitor customer satisfaction levels. Allen Logistics staff are given the chance to develop their own working relationship with clients and if there is a rare case of customer service dissatisfaction, a member of the team will compile a failure report and request a formal meeting to resolve the issue and prevent reoccurrence.

To further expand their service offering, Allen Logistics joined Fortec pallet network in May 2004, which brought about benefits for customers in Northern Ireland. This allowed Allen Logistics’ customer base to expand their own clients reach to encompass the rest of the mainland UK. As Fortec is part of the worldwide Geodis Group, it also allowed customers to take advantage of an onward distribution service to and from several European countries.

Never an organisation to stand still, Allen Logistics joined the Dublin based TPN Ireland Network in January 2009. This enabled the company to further enhance its value added services. Through Allen Logistics Network’s - Fortec and TPN, as well as their own fleet, customers large and small benefit from an economical quality next day and economy services which easily compete with the larger national and international logistics organisations.

Following the fall of Lehman Brothers in 2008 and the gathering economic storm, instead of introducing a range of cost-cutting measures, Allen Logistics decided instead to make significant investments in the business and diversify their services. The company invested in expanding their warehousing facility, refurbished the site and established a new sales team with a marketing plan; including new brochures and assorted initiatives for their existing and future customer base. As part of the investment plan, Allen Logistics have entered the world of ADR Logistics in Northern Ireland [in line with their UK operations] and joined the Hazchem Network Infrastructure.
