TWT Logistics South Wales at TPN Awards

24 April 2012

Ali and Muriel Karim of the Hazchem Network were delighted to be generously invited as guests of Hazchem Depot 055 TWT Logistics South Wales and Hazchem Depot 003 Switch International of Andover – for the TPN 2012 Awards Dinner held on Saturday 21st April 2012 in Leicester. TWT Logistics & Switch International have been longstanding members of Hazchem Network for their ADR pallets & parcels, and have been with TPN just over 12 months for their Ambient Freight.

Trevor Taylor TWT / Switch International Managing Director, and Graham Marr TWT / Switch International Finance Director had organized a table for the dinner for their teams. We were delighted to be seated with General Manager at 003 Switch International Tracey Richardson and her husband Clive. We toasted Tracey and her Andover team for the remarkable achievements in turning Switch International around, following some tough restructuring. We’ve received many comments from fellow members of the Hazchem Network Infrastructure at how proactive and helpful, the Switch Team have become. Tracey in her modest way, just blushed and shrugged and said “we’ve haven’t even got started yet!”

It was good meeting fellow transport professionals, in the convivial surroundings of the TPN Awards Dinner. It was delightful to meet up with Steve Thompson and Chris Graham of Hazchem Founder Members 006 Action Roadways, from Kent, as well as many other colleagues. It was good for Muriel Karim to agree with Caroline Marr and Margaret Taylor how hard it is to be married to men who have diesel running through their veins, and a passion for logistics!

The Master of Ceremonies was impressionist and stand-up comic John Culshaw, who assisted TPN Managing Director Adam Leonard in presenting their annual awards.

A huge cheer came from table 15, as TWT Logistics South Wales were presented with the Best Delivery Depot of the Year, a remarkable achievement considering they have only been in TPN for just over a year.

As the TWT and Switch International teams work hard and play hard, the award win meant that we just had to keep drinking late into the night, to toast their success. Hazchem Network have been doing business with Switch International and TWT Logistics for many years so we were delighted with their recognition.
