Hazchem Network “HERS” Nominated for IFW Award

10 September 2010

IFW – The Freight and Logistics News Service recently announced their 2010 Award Nominations, and we’re delighted to see Hazchem Network recognised in the Business Process Innovation Shortlist, for our unique ADR Pallet Service’s www.hers-info.com – the 24 / 7 emergency system for palletized hazardous goods. Last year we were nominated for the Energy Institute’s 2009 Award for our efforts in setting up www.hers-info.com

What is HERS?

"A co-ordinated national approach, by dedicated responders to resolve packaged chemical incidents and environmental emergencies quickly and safely - HERS is a major step forward in emergency response from a consortium of hazardous goods professionals which include The Hazchem Network, The National Chemical Emergency Centre, Braemar Howells and OAMPS Petrochemical"

The HERS Consortium was formed in 2007, and went live in 2008 and comprises 4 private groups providing a robust 24/7 Level I, II and III emergency response service for Packaged Chemicals incidents on UK Roads.

Incidentally Depot 50 Hellmann UK are also nominated for the IFW Environmental Award.

The judging panel includes: John Argent, General Manager of Agency Sector Management (UK); Dorothea Carvalho, Director of Professional Development at the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK); John Harvey, Chairman of Keswick Enterprises and transport charity Transaid; Robert Keen, Executive Director of Bifa; Andrew Traill, Director of Policy for the European Shippers’ Council and founder of The Shippers’ Voice; Larry Woelk, Business Development and Marketing Director of BiS Henderson; Tony Berkeley, Chairman of the Rail Freight Group; and Rob Riddleston, Head of Transport and Logistics at Barclays Corporate.
